Here are two tracks off of Memory Tapes’ upcoming full length, Seek Magic. The two songs aren’t that similar so I suggest still listening to both even if you don’t like whichever you chose to listen to first. Both songs have a lo-fi electro feel with vocals that made plenty of use of the reverb knob. But “Bicycle” has a bit of a new-age outer space vibe going on. I feel like this song could soundtrack wandering through a desert in space or X-Files pornography. (That’s a good thing.) While my favorite of the two, “Plain Material”, has a kick in its step. I love the melody of the vocals, upbeat kick of the synth, and the dirty guitar chords under it all. Memory Tapes, they’re worth a listen.
